How much weight does one stamp cover?

A letter that weights 1 oz will require at least 1 First class stamp and I have already mentioned above that a first class stamp cost $0.66 in July 2023. After this you have to pay $0.24 for every additional ounce of your package.

In simple words you have to pay $0.90 for 2 ounce first class letter, $1.14 for 3 ounce first class letter and so on.

Usually, letter papers are sold in realms of 500 papers each. In this realm you can see the weight, which will help you calculate one paper’s weight. Still, this weight may not be correct, because the weight printed on the realm could be of the total paper, before it was cut to be used as a letter. Hence, you may have to make some approximations on your own while doing these calculations.

Is that confusing? Don’t worry; we have made things easy for you. Usually, the weight printed on the realms is almost 4 times that of the realm’s original weight. So when you see that a realm of paper has 20lbs printed on it, you can safely assume that the original letter paper’s weight is only 5lbs for the 500 sheets.
